Provides natural gas and electric service to customers in Northern California. Offers several programs to help people who are having trouble paying their energy bills:
  • California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) Program: monthly discount on energy bills for income-qualified households and housing facilities.
  • Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) Program: monthly discount on electric bills for income-qualified households of three or more persons.
  • Medical Baseline Allowance program: offers discounts for those dependent on life-support equipment or who have special heating and cooling needs due to certain medical conditions.
  • Arrearage Management Plan (AMP): forgives 1/12 of the eligible debt owed at the time of enrollment with each on-time payment of current charges. Must meet criteria and all eligibility requirements.

  • Payment arrangements to set up a flexible and convenient payment plan to avoid service disconnection
  • Third-party notification service available to a designated third party (friend or relative) who oversees the bill payment of a PG&E customer because of illness, financial hardship or other issues

  • Power outage reporting and wake up service: 800-743-5002

"Call Before You Dig" helps protect one from unintentionally hitting underground utility lines while working on digging projects. Call 8-1-1 at least two business days before digging to find out where wires or pipelines are located.
