There is no income limit. Incurred medical bills are used to "spend down" a client's excess income to the medically needy income limit before DSS will pay for any medical expenses under the Medicaid; Call for information about time frames for calculation of expenses and income. **ASSET LIMIT: $1600 for an individual, $2400 for a married couple.

Identification (driver's license or birth certificate); Proof of residency (rent receipt or utility bill); Proof of income (pay stubs, benefit award letters or copy of benefit checks); Proof of all assets (bank statements, life insurance policies, stock certificates); Proof of citizenship or legal residency (documentation not necessary unless citizenship is questionable; if applicant is not a citizen, he/she must show green card or other card provided by INS); Social Security numbers for all family members (Client's statement or Social Security cards or income tax return); Proof of medical expenses (bills from providers)
