Ages 65+, or disabled receiving social security benefits for 2 yrs or longer; other restrictions apply; If receiving benefits from Social Security (SSI or SSD) or the Railroad Retirement Board (RRB), enrollment for Medicare Part A and Part B is automatic at age 65

Application is required at age 65 (7 month enrollment period that includes 3 months before the month you turn 65, the month you turn 65, and 3 months after the month you turn 65); Apply at local Social Security Office or at the Social Security website, https://secure.ssa.gov/iClaim/rib; Those who do not sign up for Part B at date of eligibility are subject to a late enrollment penalty for as long as they have Part B
