Description

Ensures compliance with the laws and regulations governing licensing, escrows, and sales of mobilehomes, manufactured homes, and commercial modulars. Provides educational courses required for mobilehome dealers and salespersons, investigates complaints and illegal practices, and takes appropriate disciplinary action against violators.

Administers the Manufactured Home Recovery Fund which helps to reimburse people who have lost money during or after the purchase or sale of their mobilehome/manufactured home as a result of:

  • Failure to honor warranties or guarantees
  • Fraud or willful misrepresentation related to any financial provision
  • Fraud or willful misrepresentation of the kind or quality of the product
  • Conversion (the unlawful appropriation of the property of another)
  • A willful violation of state laws and regulations
