Description

Offers emergency childcare and/or overnight care for children whose families are experiencing a crisis or stressful situation. During a child's stay at the Crisis Nursery, they are provided with essentials such as a bed, clothing, shoes, diapers, formula, nutritious homemade meals and snacks, etc. Transportation may be available for pick-up and drop-off to the Nursery.

The North Crisis Nursery runs The Children's Boutique which offers free, gently used clothing. May also have free cribs, breast pumps, formula, baby food, and playpens.

The Crisis Nursery is not affiliated with Child Protective Services and all services are voluntary, confidential, and free.

Crisis Nursery Services: Seven days a week, 24-hours;
Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5 pm

Program Delivery
Eligibility: Crisis Nursery: Children from birth through 5 years of age (until they reach their 6th birthday). A maximum stay of 30 days within a 6-month period is allowed; does not have to be 30 consecutive days. Does not serve foster children or children requiring excessive one-to-one supervision.
Children's Boutique: Open to all.
Languages: Translation services are available for multiple languages upon request, Spanish, English
Application Process: Crisis Nursery: Call for an appointment and space availability. High-priority cases get preference. A waitlist is available.
Children's Boutique: Call to make an appointment. Appointments are necessary.
Payment methods:
Program Fees: No fee.
Documents Required: Photo ID, medical card, shot record, and copy of restraining orders. If records are not available at the time of intake, they can be provided at a later date.
