Crisis Services
The Crisis Team provides 24- hour services to any individual adult or child in the community in a behavioral health or emotional crisis.
24/7 mobile crisis services
Phone counseling for individuals in a mental health crisis or urgent situation
In person assessment for individuals during a behavioral health crisis at the local emergency room
Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Western Nevada County
Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee
Admittance to Psychiatric Inpatient Services under Welfare and Institutions Code 5150
After hours referrals for behavioral health services and other county services

Mental Health Urgent Care - Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)
The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) offers a 23-hour program that provides emergency psychiatric care in a warm, welcoming environment for people experiencing a mental health crisis, including suicide issues.
Hours
- Open from 10am-10pm every day for immediate evaluation and treatment. After hours, all evaluations occur in the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Emergency Department.
Location
- The CSU is at 145 Glasson Way, Grass Valley, CA 95945, in a building near the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Emergency Department.
Referrals from other agencies, including primary care physicians, therapists, substance abuse providers, and law enforcement are welcome. Provides initial evaluation with assessment of needs and helps develop a recovery plan providing the next steps toward wellness. Includes assistance with Medi-Cal, CalFresh, and other needed resources as well as follow-up support for families and individuals.
