Description

A rapid rehousing program for students experiencing homelessness or active housing insecurity. Provides respite housing for three to six months while students work with CARES and case managers to help stabilize their housing, academic, and holistic wellness.

Program is offered on a first come, first served basis. Applications will be prioritized based on the students' needs and circumstances.

Program Delivery
Eligibility: Requirements:
- Must be a currently enrolled student at Sacramento State.
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units (undergraduate student) and 6 units (graduate student).
- Currently experiencing homelessness or active housing insecurity (street homelessness, sleeping in a car, couch-surfing, staying somewhere not intended for habitation, etc.).
- No additional family members are allowed.
- No pets (service animals and ESAs are allowed with appropriate documentation).
- Must be employed and able to pay monthly rent.
- Must be able to cohabitate with two or more roommates.
- Must meet with the case manager to participate in bi-weekly case management meetings focused on finding stable/permanent housing.
- May be asked to complete additional screening processes for housing and roommate matching.

Application Process: Complete the Rapid Rehousing Interest Form on the website. The student will be contacted by a case manager via email and will have to schedule an appointment for a screening meeting.
