Plans, prepares, and operates programs to respond quickly and effectively to threats or emergencies that endanger the health of the public, such as flu pandemic, earthquake, or multi-casualty incidents, by working closely with medical providers and healthcare facilities to coordinate emergency preparedness and response. Recruits volunteers for the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) to serve as licensed or non-licensed personnel assisting in health or medical response during emergencies.
