Offers a three to six month transitional housing for homeless families and single individuals. Supportive services include:

  • On-site therapists

  • Relapse prevention

  • Intensive case management
  • Transportation to and from work 
  • Enrichment programs for their children.

Program Delivery
Eligibility: All potential residents must be:

-Ventura County residents

-Currently homeless or at risk of homelessness in the next 14 days.

-Single adults or families with children (under the age of 18). Couples without minor can apply as separate individuals.

-Willing and able to look for employment

-Clean from drug or alcohol use

-Not a sex offender

-Willing to participate in meeting personal goals set jointly by client and case manager

-Willing and able to assist with daily chores and able to follow program rules

-Not eligible if individual receives SSI
Languages: Spanish, English
Application Process: Call and leave a voice mail. Intake staff person will return call within 48 hours for a phone based screening.

Screener will send the client an application with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Applications are to be filled out and mailed back as soon as possible.

Screener will request clients call weekly to them know you are still interested in the program. Entrance to RAIN depends on room availability. Those who call to check in will be called first when a room is available. If you do not check in, it will be assumed you are no longer in need of the program and your file will be closed after 30 days.

Once the application has been received – and when a room becomes available, the Client Services Coordinator (CSC) will contact the client to set up an in-person interview. The CSC will share the information with the Case Management Team. At that point, a date and time will be set for client to move in.
