Serves those who care for foster children and children in crisis by providing free access to a community supported clothing closet featuring clothing, school gear, and basic necessities.
Collects new and gently used clothing to be packaged with new socks, under garments, and a book which is then distributed to children in foster care or in crisis who have been referred by foster agencies, churches, outreach programs, school principals, teachers, and counselors.

This is one of many possible First 5 Nevada County Ready to Grow (R2G) program resources. Ready to Grow resources are those that support the well-being of children ages 0-5.

Eligibility: Children in foster care or in crisis situations. Teens Children
Languages: English
Application Process: Request electronically by DM'ing TKC on Facebook, through a request for a referral from foster agencies, churches, outreach programs, school, counselors, home visitors or even self-referrals. Referrals can be taken over the phone, text, or messaged through the Karing Closet Facebook page. Need to include size and gender of the child/children recipient. Can either drop off packages with referring agency or in a public meeting place.
Payment methods:
Program Fees: Free to families. Accepts donations of clothing and basic needs items. Monetary donations can be made to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Grass Valley, CA.
