Description
The Nevada County Department of Social Services facilitates human service programs within the Health and Human Services Agency. It administers:

• Adult Services - Provides a wide array of services and support to elders and dependent adults with the goal of helping individuals remain safely in their own homes.  Accomplishes these goals through investigations, assessments, and referrals to appropriate agencies and programs. Offers these services through In Home Supportive Services(IHSS), Adult Protective Services(APS), the Senior Health Outreach program, and the Public Guardian Public Conservator program. Evaluates adults who are 60 or older or a person 18-59 years who is considered to be dependent due to a physical or mental disability, which prevents or limits that individual from carrying out normal activities or protecting their rights.
