General Assistance is a cash aid program to help needy individuals and families who are not eligible for help under any other program. The program provides money, vouchers and job-related services for needy persons not eligible to Federal and State aid programs.

Program Delivery
Eligibility: Must be a resident of San Luis Obispo County. You may qualify if you are poor, destitute, incompetent, or incapacitated by age, disease or accident and are not supported by relatives, friends or any other source. You must be actively seeking employment if you are able to work.
Languages: Spanish, English
Application Process: Must apply for General Assistance only at the San Luis Obispo Department of Social Services office.
