The CalWORKs Homeless Assistance Program can provide temporary and permanent shelter for families who are homeless or have a "Pay Rent or Quit" notice. Permanent shelter payments for a security deposit and/or last month's rental and/or utility deposit payment can be made one-time for the same period of homelessness.

Program Delivery
Eligibility: Only families that meet the eligibility requirements for the CalWORKs program and have less than $100 in liquid assets are eligible for these services.
Languages: Spanish, English
Application Process: CalWORKs Homeless Assistance Program can be requested once an initial CalWORKs application has been completed. The requester will complete a CW 42 Homeless Assistance request and will be approved or denied for services no later than the end of the following business day.
