Offers California's Medicaid public health insurance program. Medi-Cal provides medical services for children and adults with limited income and resources.

The following services are covered by Medi-Cal: 

• Outpatient (ambulatory) services
• Emergency services
• Hospitalization
• Maternity and newborn care
• Mental health and substance use disorder services, including behavioral health treatment
• Prescription drugs
• Rehabilitative and habilitative services/devices (physical and occupational therapy)
• Laboratory services
• Preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management
• Certain adult dental services

Note: Adult Expansion starts on January 1, 2024. This expansion provides full-scope Medi-Cal benefits to California residents 26-49 years of age, regardless of immigration status, if they meet all Medi-Cal eligibility criteria.
