Benefits prescreener tool allows individuals to answer a series of questions to see if they or their family may be eligible for SNAP, cash assistance, or medical assistance through DSS.

**Website pre-screener search will take about 15 minutes.
**Information requested - number of people in the home, income from a job or other places, housing costs, medical bills, and other expenses.
NOTE: Information given is private and secure.

**Survey results:will tell you if individuals and the people in the home may be able to get help with buying food, cash assistance and medical benefits.
**The results are based on the assumption that you are a Connecticut resident and either a U.S. citizen or qualified non-citizen.
**Only Connecticut residents who are U.S. citizens or qualified non-citizens are able to receive benefits in Connecticut.

This website only provides pre-eligibility to see if individuals may be eligible. Individuals will have to apply for these programs to get a final decision about assistance.
