Eligibility:

All Connecticut resident children ages 0 through 18; No asset limit; Must be U.S. citizen or have legal resident status; Parent is ineligible if not willing to comply with child support enforcement requirements; Children who have health insurance or who have had health insurance within the previous 2 months may need to apply for an exception in order to be eligible for HUSKY B
As of April 1, 2022 - HUSKY B-Prenatal Care provides health care to pregnant non-citizens; Federal Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) allows states to include unborn children in their CHIP program; This coverage then allows for prenatal care and other health care for pregnant non-citizens who do not qualify for Medicaid; Also included are postpartum visits that occur within 60 days of delivery
Eligible individuals must:
·be pregnant;
·be a non-citizen or immigrant that does not qualify for Medicaid due to immigration status; and
·have a household income up to 263% of the federal poverty level. (For a family of four, up to $72,982 annually.)
Note: Unlike in traditional HUSKY B, there is no age limit or age requirement for this program

1) Online through Access Health CT at www.accesshealthct.com; 2) Over the phone by calling Access Health CT at 1-855-805-4325 - apply online or over the phone in order to get the fastest determination of whether you are eligible, 3) Using application form ‘AH3,’ available by calling Access Health CT at 1-855-805-4325 or in a Department of Social Services (DSS) office, 4) In person at a DSS field office (please note that you may have to wait to see a worker)

Documentation of income and proof of citizenship may be asked; Parents claiming no income must provide statement on how they support themselves; Social Security numbers for all applicants; Proof of medical expenses may be required if over income (medical bills, provider statements); If one parent is absent, must provide name and address of absent parent for parent to get coverage; Proof of US citizenship or legal residency (birth certificate, passport, naturalization papers, BCIS Form I-551 resident alien card); Proof of identity (driver license, state ID card, school record, hospital record, affidavit); All self-statements are subject to verification. Additional documentation may be required before eligibility is determined
