Description
Inmates in State of Connecticut prisons may receive money orders from individuals in the community. It is no longer necessary to be on an inmate's visitor list to send funds. Funds are deposited to the inmate's account and can be used to purchase items from the prison commissary. All money orders should be sent by US Mail to:

P.O. Box 290800
Wethersfield, CT 06129-0800

Include the inmate's full name and correctional identification number on the money order. Also include a completed remitter form, which can be downloaded from the Department of Corrections website. Do not include any correspondence to the inmate and do not send the money order directly to the inmate. Allow at least 10 business days for money orders to be posted to an inmate's account.
