Description
HUSKY B Prenatal Care program provides health care to pregnant non-citizens, with household income under 264% of the Federal Poverty Level and who do not qualify for medicaid due to immigration status. Federal Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) allows unborn children in the CHIP program, and services include the full range of HUSKY B benefits including pregnancy-related care, preventive care, dental and behavioral care, and other types of health care. Pregnancy-related care includes prenatal doctor visits, prenatal vitamins, ultrasounds, other tests, and more.

Program Delivery
Eligibility: Eligible individuals must be pregnant; be a non-citizen or immigrant that does not qualify for Medicaid due to immigration status; and have a household income under 264% of the federal poverty level; Unlike in traditional HUSKY B, there is no age limit or age requirement for this program

Application Process: It is strongly encouraged to apply online or over the phone in order to get an immediate decision about qualifying for the program. Or, you may also apply by; 1) Online through Access Health CT at www.accesshealthct.com; 2) Over the phone by calling Access Health CT at 1-855-805-4325 - apply online or over the phone in order to get the fastest determination of whether you are eligible; 3) Request a paper application be mailed from Access Health CT at 1-855-805-4325; 4) In person at a DSS field office (please note that you may have to wait to see a worker)
