The U.S. Department of Agriculture administers the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Benefits are issued to low-income persons and can be used as money to buy food at local stores. Households exiting the MFIP program may still qualify for food assistance from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Eligibility: Based on income, assets, and property of those who purchase and eat food together in a household, and/or those who must be considered together as a household under program rules. Serves residents of Dakota County.

Application Process: - Call for an application; email; mail or drop off an application to the Northern Service Center; visit website https://mnbenefits.mn.gov/ to apply and submit an application online

Once application is received, a financial worker will call the applicant for a phone interview.
