Assistance with paying child care costs for children up to age 12 and for children with special needs up to age 14. Child care costs may be paid for families while parents work, look for work or attend school. Family size, family income and participation in authorized activities, as well as available funding are considerations in determining the amount of the assistance.

Program Delivery
Eligibility: Families who are on MFIP and DWP, have had an MFIP and DWP case closed within the last 12 months, or meet the income guidelines, and are residents of Dakota County
Languages: French; Russian; Somali; Spanish; Thai; Vietnamese; interpreters available
Application Process: - Call for an application; mail or drop off an application in person; visit website https://mnbenefits.mn.gov/ to apply and submit an application online

Once an application is received, a worker will call the applicant for a phone interview.
Program Fees: For employed individuals not on MFIP, assistance is based on a sliding scale; qualified individuals pay a part of their child care based on income and family size
