Services help children get support. Either parent, with or without custody of their children, may receive services. Services include:

- Locating non-custodial parents

- Establishing parentage

- Establishing and enforcing child support orders

- Establishing and enforcing medical support orders

- Collecting current and past due support payments

Program Delivery
Eligibility: - Parents of minor children, if one parent does not live with the child

- Parents who pay child support through court-ordered income withholding

- People who have court-ordered, physical custody of a minor child

- People who receive public assistance for a minor child who lives in their home

- Serves Hennepin County residents; if a resident of Hennepin County but have a court order from a different county, apply for services in the county that issued the court order

Application Process: - Call; email; visit website

There are three ways to get an application:

- Call, leave name and address; an application package will be sent by mail

- Download an application from the Minnesota Department of Human Services or http://www.hennepin.us/residents/human-services/child-support

- Pick up an application at the Family Justice Center or at a Human Services Center location

- Mail completed application, including $25 application fee if applicable. Include copies of any and all court orders that have been issued regarding paternity, child support or divorce decrees.
Program Fees: One-time $25 application fee; may also be an additional cost recovery fee. Applicants who are receiving public assistance in Hennepin County do not pay a fee.
