Description
- Provides independent clinical review to determine whether or not the proposed patient meets the criteria for commitment. The program is mandated to facilitate the commitment process by working with the patient, treatment community, county attorney's office and family members.

- PSP works to divert individuals from commitment whenever possible by assisting in the development of a less-restrictive alternative.

Program Delivery
Eligibility: - Persons who may be at risk of being committed, based on mental illness, chemical dependency, or developmental disabilities

- Proposed patients must be Hennepin County residents

- PSP will screen cases of persons present in Hennepin County when residence is unclear or disputed
Languages: Interpreters available
Application Process: Call for information or to initiate a petition
