Description	Provides free tax preparation and e-filing services by trained volunteers. Serves Shasta, Siskiyou, and surrounding county residents. AARP Tax Aide volunteers are typically available February through April 15th. Serves those who meet at least one of the following criteria: Low-to-middle income Seniors People with disabilities. Also helps qualifying individuals and families access the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Note: Call to reserve appointment. Complete Intake Form prior to appointment. Intake form available at the Redding Library. Provides free coaching to help one prepare their own taxes online. Also offers access to free software. One may e-file taxes on their own for free at: taxaide.aarpfoundation.org. Click "Prepare my own taxes online," "Request Help" or "Access Software."

Eligibility	Open to individuals with low-to-middle income, seniors, and people with disabilities




Documents Required	-Photo ID/DL -Social Security card -W-2 -Intake form -Last year’s tax return -Bank account and routing number for direct deposit -Proof of health insurance coverage or exemption -Any other pertinent documents such as 1099 or Social Security income statement -If married, both spouses should attend if possible




Volunteer Duties	-Volunteers prepare tax returns for clients using a tax program -Volunteers are trained and must pass open-book test
