MARYLAND AIDS DRUG ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (MADAP): Helps pay for medications for eligible clients and helps clients with insurance by paying for eligible co-pay and deductible costs so they can get their medication (MADAP Plus). The list of medicines covered by MADAP includes a wide range of medications used to treat HIV infection, HCV treatment, opportunistic infections, and complications of HIV infection or related conditions, including all anti-retroviral therapies approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Also offers assistance in paying insurance premiums for health and prescription plans for eligible individuals. (MADAP-Plus).
NOTE: Provides assistance for individuals who are not eligible for MADAP but have a pending application for Medical Assistance (Medicaid/MA) or for individuals who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medical Assistance (not including Qualified Medicare Beneficiary program (QMB) or Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary program (SLMB)) with a pending Low-Income Subsidy (LIS) application. If these individuals have a need for HIV medication a case manager, on behalf of the client, must request TAP while the application for Maryland Medical Assistance or LIS is being processed.
