Description
|
Services Include:
1) 211: Provides information and referral to a variety of governmental, health and human services as well as supportive listening to individuals of all ages regarding a variety of issues including: loneliness, depression, suicide, abuse, relationships, family concerns and substance abuse. Out of area callers or callers who can't use 2-1-1 may call 301-864-7161.
2) NATIONAL SUICIDE PREVENTION LIFELINE (1-800-273-8255): National Suicide Hotline provides supportive listening and crisis intervention for callers having thoughts of suicide.
3) MARYLAND CRISIS HOTLINE (1-800-422-0009): Provides crisis intervention, supportive listening and information and referral to local community resources.
4) CHILD/ADULT ABUSE HOTLINE (301-909-2450): Accepts reports for abuse/neglect for Prince George's County; provides information and education about child/adult abuse or neglect.

Eligibility
|
Crisis services are open to anyone in need. Shelter services are open to Prince George's County residents with a valid ID or appropriate documentation showing at least 30 days of County residency.

|
18 and older.
|
Volunteer Duties
|
Volunteer suicide/crisis counselors. No experience necessary. Must be able to attend our in-house training. Contact the Training Coordinator for further information. 301-864-7095 EX 427.
