Description

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT: Provides and maintains plans for the emergency response for day-to-day emergencies and natural and technological hazards such as fires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, winter storms, chemical releases and terrorism incidents.

Emergency Medical: Provides assistance to the volunteer ambulance companies with medical calls.

Everbridge Alert system: Provides an automated notification message system to issue warnings to county residents of emergencies such as natural disasters, missing person alerts, escaped convicts, terrorism and early dismissal or cancellations made by Kent County Public Schools.

9-1-1 Communications: Provides assistance to citizens and visitors of Kent County through processing calls for service through a protocol system that requires the caller to answer questions referring to patient information, caller safety, scene safety, responder safety, and allowing the call takers to provide pre-arrival instructions to assist those in need prior to the arrival of Fire, Medical, or Police services. These calls for service are then dispatched to the local, Fire, Medical, or Police services are requested.
