Birth and death records for those born or died in Tompkins County from 1880 to the present.
Who can obtain a birth certificate copy?
- person named on the birth certificate
- parent of the person named on the birth certificate (requesting parent's name must be on birth certificate)
- permanent legal guardian or legal representative (with acceptable evidence of guardianship or power of attorney)
- other persons by order of a New York State Court
FEE for Birth and Death certificates: Original per individual, per order: $30. Acceptable methods of payment: Check/Money Order payable to TCHD or Cash (No debit or credit cards accepted at this time). Duplicates, same individual, same order: $15 each
