|
- receives and disburses child support payments
- helps locate absent, alleged natural parent of the child
- establishes paternity (legal fatherhood) to protect child's rights to survivor's benefits (former service member's, Social Security, inheritance)
- establishes child support and/or medical support orders from court; reviews, modifies orders for more support
- enforces unpaid orders by executions against wages, unemployment benefits and seizure of income tax refunds and lottery winnings
