Description FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER: Offers a family literacy program to parents with children 3 years old or younger to enhance parent-child relationships, infant/toddler development, and parent self-sufficiency. Parents can enroll in one of three options: English as Second Language (ESL), Employment Services Coordinator (ESC), or General Education Diploma (GED) program.  Each program includes job readiness, health and life skills, and parenting education classes. Childcare is available for parents attending classes.  A home visitor program is also available to pregnant parents-to-be and parents with children 3 years old or younger who cannot participant in program activiies for three months or more. The home visitor visits parents three times per month helping support family bonding through developmentally appropriate activities, health care education, goal setting, service coordination. Parenting classes are offered twice each year, usually in the spring and fall (nine 2-hour clsses over a two-week period). Parents who complete the parenting course receive a certificate. Call to inquire aovut new programs and seasonal events as offered.

Eligibility Expectant mother, or parents of children age three years old or younger (parent must have at least 50 percent custody of child).
