Description
|
OVERVIEW: Provides gynecological medical services and provides contraceptive.
SERVICES:
1) HEALTH EDUCATION: Information and education on approved birth control methods.
2) MEDICAL SERVICES: Offers GYN exams, pregnancy testing, family planning supplies and referral. Provides counseling on all options for continuing or terminating pregnancy, including family planning. Diagnosis and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases. This includes rapid HIV testing and the HPV vaccine.
3) MALE SERVICES: Vasectomy counseling, STD screening.
4) EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTION "PLAN B": Available over-the-counter for males and females 17 years and older. Must ask for a pharmacist and present them with an ID. If under 17 , need a prescription which can be obtained from Planned Parenthood (with an appointment) or from personal doctor. Emergency contraception should be taken within 5 days of having sex.
