Description
|
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides emergency cash assistance (grant) to families with children. Assists with utility cut-offs, eviction prevention, first month security deposits and burial assistance. Families or individual at risk of being homeless are provided with shelter referrals. Financial allowance varies based on situations, income and assets, and may be used only once in a 24-month period. Can assist Section 8 and public housing clients with non housing related grants.
Also provides funds to persons who have experienced an official disaster (hurricane, flood, fire). Children 18-21 must be enrolled full-time in school. For burial assistance, the person that passed away must have been receiving either TCA or SSI, and has a child. Families applying for benefits must provide proof of need such as utility cut-off notice and proof of possible eviction.
