Description
|
FOSTER CARE: Provides placement of children in foster homes or group homes when it is clearly determined that the children can no longer remain in their own homes. Placements are court-ordered or through voluntary parent agreement, depending on the nature of the case. Returning home is the primary focus of DSS. Also offers foster home and adoption licensing that requires licenses for those families providing 24-hour care for non-related children. Once approved, foster parents receive board payments, a Medical Assistance card, and a clothing allowance for the support of the foster child.
