Description
|
OVERVIEW: Provides legal representation to income eligible individuals who have been arrested or summoned for incarceration.
SERVICES:
1) INCARCERATED CLIENT: Incarcerated clients may be interviewed by a commissioner depending upon the charge to see if they are eligible for a public defender.
2) "ON THE STREET" CLIENT: If qualified, the client will immediately be appointed a public defender.

Eligibility
|
Those individuals who cannot afford an attorney as determined by Office of the Public Defender guidelines. Provides services to clients in the Circuit Court, Juvenile Court, and District Court.

|
Clients are interviewed for eligibility, and if accepted are assigned to an attorney. Walk in for intake and bring charging documents.
