Description HEALTH INSURANCE: Provides health benefits for children up to age 19, pregnant women of any age, or family members caring for children who meet the income guidelines. MCHP enrollees obtain care from a variety of Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) through the Maryland Health Choice Program.  Local health departments provide assistance with application, enrollment and education on plans.

SERVICES:
1) BENEFITS FOR CHILDREN: Provides well and sick care visits, hospital care, lab work and tests, dental, vision care and prescription medicines. Also offers immunizations, mental health, substance abuse services and transportation to medical appointments. 

2) BENEFITS FOR PREGNANT WOMEN: Offers prenatal and postpartum visits, additional doctor visits not relating to an individual's pregnancy, family planning services, lab work, tests, and dental and vision care. Also assists with prescription medicines, mental health, substance abuse services and transportation to medical appointments.

Program Fees None. If quailify for MCHP Premium a monthly fee is required depending upon income.
