VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: The Retired Senior and Volunteer Program (RSVP) helps people aged 55 years and older who have gained a lifetime of experience put their skills and talents to work in their communities. Volunteers choose the amount of time they want to serve from just a few hours to up to 20 hours each week in a variety of roles with a focus area of "Healthy Futures" of individuals. Some of the volunteer opportunities include the following:
- Advocating in nursing homes and assisted living facilities
- Assisting seniors with health insurance challenges
- Helping seniors remain in their homes
- Hospice care in areas of patient/family care, bereavement and tuck-in-caller
- Hospital and non-profit services
- Nursing Home friendly visitor
- Support services to community and government agencies
- Telephone outreach caller to the homebound, sick, and people with disabilities
- Transportation for seniors to appointments and more...
