Description

SUBSIDIZED HOUSING: Pays a portion of the monthly rent for persons who have been referred by a participating agency because they are in crisis. The person must be determined eligible through one of the participating referral providers. Call to find out what agencies provide referrals to RAP. Referrals are required and accepted from Red Cross, hospitals, shelters, and heath care providers. If a referral is obtained, the person can bring the referral to the office on Mon, Tue, and Wed, 8:30AM-Noon to speak with a representative about their options and what is available. Applicant must be employed or in the process of getting a job unless receiving monthly monetary government assistance. Assistance is available for 6-12 months and is not renewable. Amount of assistance varies with family size.

Program
Eligibility Individuals 18 and older, and eligibility is based on a case by case basis. Eligible residents are low-income families who are homeless, in danger of becoming homeless, or in need of emergency housing. Incomes of assisted households cannot exceed 30 percent of the statewide or area median income, whichever is higher.
