|
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: Provides mental health services to county residents ages 3 and above. Offers a substance use prevention program as well as an out-patient program and residential treatment facilities for adults who are chemically dependent.
SERVICES: -- ASSESSMENT: Serves as a first step to obtaining treatment. Level of care will be determined and appropriate referrals will be given.
-- PREVENTION SERVICES: Promotes and implements prevention and intervention strategies to reduce the impact of substance use disorders, such as underage alcohol and drug use.
-- OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH: A variety of services are offered, including individual, family, and group therapy along with medication evaluation and monitoring. Intensive outpatient services are offered for adults and children. School based services are provided in all of the schools in Allegany County.
-- OUTPATIENT SUBSTANCE USE PROGRAM: Provides assessment and treatment services to individuals and families with substance use disorders. Services include an outpatient, intensive outpatient, gambling counseling, jail substance use program, after treatment (continuing care) program, peer counseling, crisis intervention, individual, family and group counseling, DUI Program, adolescent group counseling, education and referral services. Buprenorphine services.
-- INPATIENT SUBSTANCE USE PROGRAM: (Joseph S. Massie Unit) - Provides inpatient care for individuals 18+ with substance use disorders. Length of stay ranges from 15-30 days, depending on individual needs. Services include individual and group counseling, education, referral and support services, detoxification, Medication Assisted Therapy, family counseling, and mental health services.
--RESIDENTIAL SUBSTANCE USE PROGRAM: (Allegany House)- Serves individuals 18 + in a halfway house setting. Provides stable home environment that assists individuals in a sober lifestyle. Provides counseling, job training, referral and supportive services. Length of stay is individualized but averages 3-5 months. A holistic treatment approach is utilized to address the issues necessary to maintain an abstinent lifestyle
-- NALOXONE TRAINING: Offers virtual or in-person educational program that includes an understanding of opioids, recognizing signs and symptoms of an overdose, proper rescue breathing techniques, proper administration of naloxone, and care for the individual until paramedics arrive. Eligibility
|
Individuals who are chemically dependent and their families. Mental Health services provided for the homeless, have been released from a Maryland Psychiatric hospital in the past 90 days, incarcerated in the last 90 days, receiving Social Security Disability Insurance for mental health reasons, are on conditional release, or served by the public mental health system in the past 2 years.
