BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: Responsible for planning, managing and monitoring publicly funded mental health and substance use services in the county. Plans for service development, encouraging providers to develop and deliver a full range of treatment and rehabilitation services for persons with mental illness or substance use disorders. Works with the Behavioral Health Administration, Office of Health Care Quality and Administrative Service Organization to investigate complaints and monitor the delivery of services. Works to ensure people have access to needed services; educates the public about mental health and substance use, hosts training to enhance skills of behavioral health providers, and advocates with other agencies on behalf of individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. Assists individuals with locating available services and provides public education through various forums. Offer behavioral health resource brochure for providers accepting Maryland Medicaid
State Care Coordination (SCC): Helps to expand access to acomprehensive array of community-based behavioral health services for Marylandresidents in varying stages of recovery. Designed to improve recovery outcomes forindividuals identified as at high risk for relapse.
Continuum of Care (CoC): Provides tenant-based rental assistance tohomeless individuals and families with an adult member who has a serious mentalhealth disorder or co-occurring substance use disorder. Offers supportive services through the PublicBehavioral Health System and other state or local agencies.
CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES:
Maryland Community Criminal Justice Treatment Program (MCCJTP): Offers case management for re-entry for individuals being released from incarceration from local detention with a diagnosis of mental illness and/or substance use.
Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH): Offers case management for individuals diagnosed with a mental health disorder and experiencing homelessness.
