Description
|
PARENTING EDUCATION: Provides a wide variety of social services that are designed to support the healthy development of families. Also, provides community resources for teen pregnancy prevention, smoking cessation, literacy, prenatal care, and the Hope project supporting mothers who have experienced fetal-infant and/or child loss. Offers the following:
--Moms Clubs: Meets once a week to meet other moms and address questions and/or concerns. Offered in both English and Spanish.
--B'more Fit: Meets weekly for group classes, weight-loss support, wellness education, tips on budgeting and food preparation. Childcare and transportation provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Offered in both English and Spanish.
--Breastfeeding Support: Provides monthly meetings to receive support.Meet with a certified lactation counselor to get advice on making nursing easier. Meetings held at Patterson Park North and East every Thu, 8:30AM- 10AM. Meetings are also held at The Judy Center at John Ruhrah Elementary/Middle School, 701 Rappolla Street, Baltimore, MD 21224. HealthCare Access Maryland: Serves pregnant women, children, individuals with behavioral health diagnoses and chronic health conditions, as well as those that have lost contact with their medical provider. Assists pregnant women covered by Medical Assistance with understanding medical benefits, connection to WIC and other needed resources, as well as linkage to long term home visiting services for pregnant women and infants through B'More for Healthy Babies Home Visiting Services. Safe Sleep Program- Provide education about safe sleep practices as well as provide a pack-n-play to those families who do not have a safe sleep environment for their baby. Care Coordinators/Care Coordination Associates provide telephonic assessments and referral to resources. Community home visits are performed as needed to assistance clients as needed.
