Description EDUCATION: Provides training and educational materials upon request regarding child passenger safety laws and of appropriate car seat selection and usage. Also coordinates community events regarding child passenger safety. Purpose is to reduce injuries and death among Maryland children by helping people to correctly use child safety seats. 

*MARYLAND'S CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY LAW (Effective October 1, 2022): Requires all children under age 2 ride in a rear-facing car seat, under age 8 must ride in an appropriate car seat or booster seat, unless a child is taller than 4'9" prior to the 8th birthday. Additionally, all children 8-16 years must ride in a car seat, booster seat or seat belt.

Application Process Call for information. Drop-ins are not available due to field work and telework of staff (referrals via phone or email instead).
