Description
|
EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Offers assistance to families to prevent or resolve crisis situations. Benefits are limited to one grant in a 24-month period to pregnant women and families with a minor child under age 21. The major crises averted by emergency grants are evictions, emergency fuel needs, utility turn off, and water bills. **Must contact the Howard County Community Action Council for all emergency financial assistance.

Application Process
|
Interviews accepted as walk-ins during normal business hours, or by appointment for phone interviews Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs 8AM - 4PM. People can apply online on the mymdthink.maryland.gov website. The Emergency Assistance option is located under the Housing & Energy Assistance section. People may also call 410-872-6706 if they need special accommodations.
