SERVICES OFFERED: - The Power To Care - Utility Assistance for disabled & elderly
- Only for Entergy bill
- Applicant must have an unexpected event that prevents them from paying the bill.
- Applicants must be over 65, have a mental/physical disability, or have a disabled dependent
- Bill must be in applicant's name, legal spouse or legal caregiver.
- Case Management - Low Income Families
- Food Pantry – Shelf stable food
- Eligible every 3 months
- Limited to 3 consecutive visits
- Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) - For Ouachita; (EFSP funds for Richland Parish are no longer being distributed at this location). Client must contact Wayne Lee to see what resources are available.(there will be a temporary message when funds are available) for Gas,Water and Electricity. Other wise there is no funding available.

Eligibility
|
Eligibility determined by caseworker after interview;
EFSP Eligibility:
-it cannot be used to pay deposits
-it does not cover late fees
-it can only be used for a one month amount and the amount paid by the referral agency must guarantee additional month’s service/housing for the applicant
-utility bills are eligible 10 days before due date or past due
utility assistance is for water, gas( natural or propane) and electric
-can only be helped once in a phase (funding cycle) per category of service. (a person could only get utility bill paid once. Some agencies might help with 2 different utilities.)
