Description
|
- Weatherization Program - Helps low-income households make their home's energy-efficient so that energy can be conserved and money can be saved. Possible services provided:
- Insulate attics, walls, and foundations
- Seal up ductwork
- Replace dryer venting
- Weatherstrip windows and doors
- Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Furnace efficiency test/furnace cleaning/furnace filters, blower door test to check for air leaks
- LED light bulbs
- Emergency Furnace & Water Heater Program - Households may be eligible to have their furnace or water heater repaired or replaced under this program. The household must be owner-occupied. In all cases, cost-effective repairs are considered first before replacement is considered. The household needs to be income-eligible through the LIHEAP Program at Social Services.
- Cooling Assistance Program - Individuals age 60 years and older and those with a qualifying medical condition that puts their health at risk from extreme heat may qualify for a cooling device (air conditioner or fan) or assistance with repairing/replacing their central air system. The household needs to be income-eligible through the LIHEAP Program at Social Services. This is a seasonal program through September.
