2-1-1 now handles Way2Go's transportation troubleshooting on the phone.
Assists Tompkins County residents getting to and from work, school, medical appointments and more by teaching consumers about the county's transportation resources. Way2Go: - provides information and spreads awareness of area transportation options and resources, including
- bicycling, walking, local/regional buses and taxis
- buying, renting and saving money on cars
- carpooling/ridesharing
- Ithaca Carshare
- transportation assistance programs
- encourages appropriate transportation choices for individual, community and environmental well-being
- encourages and facilitates dialog among transportation users, providers, planners and advocates on improving transportation systems and services
- teaches individuals to use area transportation options, including hands-on practice for seniors on navigating TCAT
- presents transportation options and travel training workshops
