Administers a government-supported program that matches low-income residents of Ventura with home providers. The program aims to partner senior citizens with younger low-income residents who would provide companionship, help with household chores, and income assistance. Please note that this is not an emergency housing program, and the investigation process takes time.

Program Delivery
Eligibility: Must be a low-income resident of Ventura County.
Must be 18 years of age or older or emancipated.
Must be willing to submit approval for a criminal background check and have no criminal history.
Must not have a drug or alcohol dependence.
Must provide references to verify rental history, employment history and character.
Languages: Spanish, English
Application Process: Requires a completed application, mandatory interview, pass a criminal background check, and reference checks and inspection of the provider's property.

*Ultimately, the decision is made by the home provider and the home seeker on whether their situation is a good fit. A periodic follow-up is scheduled to verify compatibility and success.
