Description
The Nevada County Transit Services Department's Gold Country Stage buses provide regularly scheduled, fixed route, public transit service to Grass Valley, Nevada City, Penn Valley and surrounding communities in Western Nevada County. Regional service available along Highway 49 corridor to Lake of the Pines and Auburn. Offers Gold Country LIFT, a door-to-door paratransit service for persons with disabilities who are unable to use the fixed route bus system. Public transportation planning available at 211 Connecting Point or Transit Services.

Transit home page includes an app where you can select a route, a direction, and a stop to see real time predictions of arrival time. The app can be downloaded to a mobile device.

Public Transportation Route 5 connects to Placer County Transit, Auburn Transit, Lightrail bus and Amtrak connector buses at the Auburn Transit Center.
Disabilities Access: All buses are accessible and have wheelchair lifts and wheelchair tie-down securements.

Documents Required: Identification required for discounts fares as follows: Senior 65 years or older fare subject to picture/age ID card; Youth 6-17 years fare subject to age identification (school or age ID); Disabled fare subject to either Medicare (no Medi-Cal) card, Disabled DMV placard with photo/address ID, ADA certification letter/card issued by County of Nevada Transit Services, disable ID or ADA eligibility document issued by another transit operator or Veteran's ID card with "SERVICE CONNECTED" or Dept. of VA Affairs disabled veteran's letter; Single PCA (Personal Care Assistant) fare waived when accompanied passenger has an approved "Travel with PCA-ADA Paratransit Eligibility" card.
Normal Wait Time: Set scheduled routes; depart times are listed in our Gold Country Stage Rider's Guides.
Provides service to Western Nevada County including: Grass Valley, Nevada City, Rough & Ready, Penn Valley, and Lake Wildwood with a regional limited stop service to Lake of the Pines and Auburn via the Highway 49 corridor.
