Description
Provides home and community-based services including respite, in-home training, personal care, and day and other habilations. Serves as an alternative to killed nursing or intermediate care facilities. Comprehensive, long-term support is provided through a Medicaid Waiver.

Please note: there is an extensive waiting list for the SCL Waiver. The only admissions are the result of an emergency application, which must be approved by the Division of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (DDID), the state office for developmental services.

Note: the SCL waiver is a way for someone to access Medicaid funding that will pay for services, including residential services, for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The SCS program provides case management to assist with accessing services, but SCS does not directly provide housing through its SCL program.
