Description
Statewide children's legal services agency promotes the rights and interests of low income children whose care is provided by Connecticut's judicial, child welfare, health, mental health, education, and juvenile justice systems. Legal assistance is provided to individual children for issues involving abuse, neglect, placement, education, homelessness, special education, and mental or physical health. The Center also provides administrative or legal advocacy on behalf of groups of children and functions as a legal resource center for lawyers representing children. Website provides on-line access to recent cases, legislation, and a variety of resources for attorneys. The Center cannot represent children who already have a lawyer or adults who are concerned about a child. Representation is for children only, or for children who are part of a "family with service needs" as designated by juvenile court.
