FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Emergency Assistance to Families with Children (EAFC) provides emergency cash assistance to families who need emergency help paying rent or utilities or for other emergencies. These funds are available through the local department once every two years when funds are available.

Best time to see a case manager to have a face to fact interview is 8AM-12PM but an application can be taken during all hours of operation.

Program Delivery
Eligibility: Families must have one or more children under 21 living with them.

Families must present proof that they have an emergency that was not caused by a family member quitting a job.

Families must present an eviction notice from utility company that services have been/will be cut off or other proof of an emergency. Children Families Females Males
Availability: Up to 1 time every 12 month(s).
Application Process: Apply at your Local Department of Social Services in person. You may also file an application by mail, fax or other electronic means or someone may drop an application off for you.
Payment methods:
Program Fees: None.
Documents Required: Photo identification (ID card or driver's license), proof of address (utility bills), proof of income for past 2 months, recent benefit letter from Social Security, and or Veterans Administration, court ordered eviction notice, utility or cut-off notice, forclosure notice. Proof of cash and/or non cash resources (checking and savings account statements), social security cards for all members of household, and proof of household expenses (utility bills, hospital bills, statement of childcare costs, and real estate tax bill).
