Description
FOSTER CARE PLACEMENT: When children can no longer remain safely in their home the Department will seek court intervention and alternate placement based on the child's need to ensure safety and promote well being. Once a child enters the foster care system the primary goal is reunification.

FOSTER HOME LICENSING: Licenses families providing 24-hour care for related or non-related children. Once approved for licensure, foster parents receive board payments, a Medical Assistance card and a clothing allowance for the support of the foster child.

TIME LIMITED VOLUNTARY PLACEMENT:: Under certain circumstances, such as incapacitation of both parents, voluntary foster care of children arrangements are possible.
